Michael Harold is the Cullen Engineering Professor and the Assistant Vice President of Intellectual Property and Industrial Engagement at the University of Houston. His work in catalysis and reaction engineering targets multi-functional reactor design, reducing industrial emissions and byproduct formation.

Michael applies molecular-to-reactor scale experiments and computational modeling to advance fundamental understanding of reaction systems, translating findings into actionable guidance for practitioners. His contributions to multi-functional catalyst development have produced safer, more intensified chemical reactor configurations for the petroleum and chemical industries.
